South Florida: Western Kentucky tackles / tight ends coach Stu Holt has accepted a position under Willie Taggart at South Florida. Syracuse: Don't be surprised if current defensive coordinator Scott Shafer, Alabama offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, Tampa Bay Bucs offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan, and Rice offensive coordinator John Reagan enter the mix. Expect Shafer to have a strong chance to land the job. Cleveland Browns: With Chip Kelly out of the picture, Yahoo Sports is reporting that Bruce Arians and Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman will be included in the Browns' coaching search. Arizona Cardinals: ESPN is reporting the Cardinals will interview Cinncinati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden for their head coaching job. Buffalo Bills: ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Doug Marrone's contract is for four years. South Florida: Tampa Plant High School (FL.) coach Robert Weiner will be named wide receivers coach at USF, according to multiple reports. Jacksonville State: New JSU head coach Bill Clark has signed a four-year contract with a base salary of $175,000 annually, according to the Anniston Star. Colorado: Former NC State wide receivers coach Troy Walters has been named the receivers coach at Colorado. Illinois: ESPNChicago.com is reporting that Illinois has hired former Western Michigan head coach Bill Cubit as offensive coordinator. Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles: According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Browns officials are returning to Cleveland and will reboot their coaching search without Chip Kelly in the field. Kelly's likely options now are the Philadelpha Eagles or returning to Oregon. UCF: I have confirmed former Southern Miss defensive line coach Zo Constantini has accepted the same job at UCF. Purdue: According to Purdue Rivals, Florida State linebackers / assistant head coach Greg Hudson has emerged as a candidate to fill the DC position under Darrell Hazell. UTEP: Sources tell me Purdue wide receivers coach Patrick Higgins and running backs coach Cornell Jackson have accepted job at UTEP. Houston: Sources tell me Travis Bush has been elevated to co-offensive coordinator / assistant head coach. New York Jets and Carolina Panthers: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross is scheduled to interview for the Jets general manager job on Monday and the Panthers GM job on Tuesday. FIU: Sources tell me that Miami (OH) defensive grad assistant Mike Hiestand has accepted a GA position under Ron Turner at FIU. Buffalo Bills: Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone accepted the Buffalo job. ----------- Cleveland Browns: NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Browns met with Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone again and are deciding between him and Oregon head coach Chip Kelly. West Virginia: Special teams coordinator / assistant head coach Steve Dunlap will not return. Nevada: CBS Sports reporter Bruce Feldman reports Texas A&M tight ends / special teams coordinator Brian Polian is expected to become the Nevada head coach. Houston: The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Oklahoma State inside receivers coach Doug Meacham has accepted the offensive coordinator job at Houston. Illinois: Big Ten Network reporter Tom Dienart is reporting co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Chris Beatty will not return. Carolina Panthers and Cleveland Browns: According to Fox Sports reporter Jay Glazer, the Panthers and Browns have requested permission to interview Vikings assistant general manager George Paton for GM. Mississippi State: 247 Sports is reporting that Dan Mullen will interview Texas assistant strength coach Tim Cross. Chicago Bears: NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport is reporting that Chicago will interview Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman. Arkansas State: I am hearing that Texas assistant strength coach Tim Cross has emerged as a candidate for the defensive line job at Arkansas State. Carolina Panthers: Carolina has announced it will move forward with Ron Rivera as head coach. Updated: NFL Chart - Who has interviewed? Who will interview? Who could interview? Iowa: It will be interesting to see if former Colorado wide receivers coach Bobby Kennedy emerges as a candidate to fill the wide receivers job at Iowa. Kennedy coached with Iowa offensive coordinator Greg Davis at Texas. Arizona: With the departure of offensive line coach Robert Anae to BYU, don't be surprised if Indiana offensive line coach Greg Frey emerges as a candidate to fill the Wildcats' offensive line job. Kansas City Chiefs: Packers front-office executive John Dorsey is a strong candidate to become the general manager in Kansas City. Jacksonville Jaguars: Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel Dave Caldwell is the leading candidate to become the general manager in Jacksonville. Adam Schefter is reporting that if Caldwell lands the job, he will likely to move forward without Mike Mularkly as head coach. Caldwell could turn to his college roommate Greg Roman, who serves as the offensive coordinator with the 49ers. Another candidate for the head coaching job would be Atlanta defensive coordinator Mike Nolan. Philadelphia Eagles: Adam Schefter is reporting that the Eagles on Monday are expected to request permission to interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. Doug Marrone: According to CBS Sports reporter Jason La Canfora, Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone has set up interviews with the Chargers and Eagles next week and has already interviewed with the Bills and the Browns. Alabama State: Athletic director Stacy Danley has been dismissed. Updated: 2012 - 2013 College Coaching Changes Mississippi State: Dan Mullen has two positions open with the departure of Melvin Smith to Auburn and Chris Wilson to Georgia. It's possible that Mullen will hire a special teams coordinator and/or offensive position and allow Tony Hughes to serve as the lone defensive backs coach. Philadelphia Eagles: ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the Eagles are flying to Arizona today to interview Chip Kelly. Things can change quickly in the coaching profession Purdue: According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Kent State defensive coordinator Jon Heacock, linebackers coach Marcus Freeman, running backs coach Jafar Williams will join Darrell Hazell's staff at Purdue. Central Florida: USF assistant strength coach Luke Day has accepted the same position at Central Florida. |
