Carl Torbush, who began his coaching career in 1975, has decided to retire.

Torbush (61) spent the 2012 season as the linebackers / assistant head coach under Turner Gill at Liberty University.

During his career, Torbush coached at places such as Kansas, Mississippi State, Alabama, Texas A&M, LA Tech, and Ole Miss. He also coached at Southeastern Louisiana, Baylor, and Carson-Newman.

Torbush served as the head coach at North Carolina from 1997-2000.  During that time, the Tar Heels played in two bowl games, the Gator Bowl and Las Vegas Bowl.

He also served as the head coach at LA Tech in 1987.

In 2002, Torbush was honored as the SEC Assistant Coach of the Year.
