Posted by: Josh Kendall on November 8, 2012 Auburn has hired a private security former to help it enforce a nightly curfew since the preseason, The (Montgomery, Ala.) Advertiser reported on Wednesday. Tigers coach Gene Chizik confirmed the practice but declined to discuss it. "We always do what's in the best interest of our team," Chizik said. "We have a curfew check, and we have to employ people to help us with some of the kids off campus. Other than that, I'm not going into any details of any of that." It is rare for college teams to instill a nightly curfew throughout the season and even more rare for a school to employ a third party to help enforce the curfew. A representative of the company - Event Operations Group, Inc. - told The Advertiser that its employs check the apartments and homes of players who live off campus to make sure they are home by 11 p.m. Auburn had a series of off-field incidents during the offseason.
