Posted by: Chris Vannini on February 10, 2013 Sean Payton knows things aren't going to be simple. Returning to the New Orleans Saints, Payton knows his return isn't instantly going to return the team to being a Super Bowl contender, and that's a message he's getting across to everyone. While On ESPN Radio in Chicago, Payton talked about making sure the problems of last season aren't overlooked because of his return. "I think the one thing we've got to be careful of this mindset of, 'Well, he's back and we're right back to where we were. We're now going to be back (near the top of the league),' Payton said. (Bill) Parcells said to me the other day, if we're not careful, we'll turn around and win five games next season. "We're coming in with the idea and I'm coming in with the mindset that this is my first year here and I just got hired." The biggest fix will have to be the defense, which was, statistically, one of the worst in NFL history last season. The Saints announced the hiring of former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan on Saturday. "In regards to Rob, we have experience in preparing and playing against his defenses and they've always been challenging in terms of the different looks and pressures that they feature," Payton said in a release from the team. "We've had the chance to visit with each other and talk about our visions for our team and I'm excited about moving forward as we prepare for the 2013 season. "Rob is enthusiastic about joining our team and getting right to work." You can listen to Payton's radio interview by clicking here.
