Former UCF defensive end Elton Patterson wants the defensive line job at his alma mater.  In fact, Patterson has tweeted, "I would have them top 10 in the nation!!!"

Patterson, unlike anything I've seen in the coaching world, is tweeting his case for the position.  I particularly liked the short bio under Patterson's twitter handle @EpDaTruth that says, "Born in Tallahassee Florida. Known as a Hustler aka Go Getter... Quote of the day On It."

The last three tweets from @EpDaTruth are as follows:

"If you think I should start a campaign to be the next Defensive Line coach at UCF "Retweet" I would have them top 10 in the nation!!!"

"I only had 30 sacks in 3 years while playing for the Golden Knights!!! Only @bmiller_49 has topped which was well deserved!!!"

"Jim Panagos, who was my Dline coach when I was with the Vikings has left UCF leaving that position open!! Where do I sign the application???"

The position opened when Jim Panagos accepted the defensive line job at Rutgers over the weekend.  On Sunday night, I posted a couple of possible candidates for the position.

Patterson isn't likely will not land the position. He doesn't have any coaching experience, but he did play professionally from 2003 - 2009.

His career included stints with the Cincinnati Bengals (2003-2004), Jacksonville Jaguars (2004), Cincinnati Bengals (2005), Minnesota Vikings (2005), Jacksonville Jaguars (2006), Berlin Thunder (2006), Orlando Predators (2008), and Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2009).
