According to the Baltimore Sun, Randy Edsall will now allow quarterback Danny O'Brien to transfer to Vanderbilt, after all.

Over the last two days, Edsall has been the target of serious criticism from Gregg Doyle (CBS) and Michael Rosenburg (Sports Illustrated) for his decision to restrict transfer options to three players including O'Brien.

Jeff Baker of the Baltimore Sun is reporting that Edsall will meet with three players this morning including O'Brien to inform them of the decision.

The list of schools believed to remain not an option for the players will include ACC programs, Temple, and West Virginia.

It's been highly speculated that O'Brien wants to reunite with former Maryland offensive coordinator James Franklin, who is now the head coach at Vanderbilt.  Due to early graduation, O'Brien is expected to be eligible to play immediately because he has 2 years of eligibility remaining.

In reaction to Jeremiah Masoli to Ole Miss, the SEC no longer allows the proverbial one-year free agent transfers.

When Vanderbilt opens the season on ESPN Thursday night primetime against South Carolina, it now seems possible that Danny O'Brien will be in black & gold.

The following year (2014), which would be O'Brien's final season, Vanderbilt is set to open at Ohio State.
