Today, the Vanderbilt football program released a behind-the-scenes video of James Franklin and his coaching staff from National Signing Day.

You can even listen to Franklin's phone call to Danny O'Brien asking him to transfer from Maryland to Vanderbilt. (Just kidding)

Franklin and his staff received plenty of attention from scouting services for signing a class that seems to be one of the best in school history.  As if the Commodore fans were not already buying in, this behind-the-scenes video can only fuel the excitement about the future of the program.

The class could get even better with the addition of Maryland quarterback Danny O'Brien.  As mentioned earlier today, Randy Edsall has finally given O'Brien his release to sign with Vanderbilt.

Although O'Brien has not stated that he will definitely sign with Vanderbilt, it's seems as though the quarterback wants to reunite with James Franklin, who served as the offensive coordinator at Maryland before becoming the head coach at Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt will have a couple of quality new additions to the coaching staff, as well.  Since National Signing Day, George Barlow and Josh Gattis have joined the coaching staff,

Barlow joins the staff after serving as the defensive coordinator / interim head coach at New Mexico.  Josh Gattis joins the staff after spending the past year on Bill Cubit's staff at Western Michigan.

Barlow, who will serve as the defensive backs / defensive recruiting coordinator, replaces Wes McGriff.

Gattis, who will coach the wide receivers, replaces Chris Beatty.  Vanderbilt must also replace offensive quality control Charles Huff, who accepted the offensive assistant on Chan Gailey's staff at Buffalo.

Vanderbilt begins spring practice on March 16th.
